Periodontitis Treatment

Periodontitis (Periodontal Disease) Treatment

In order to treat periodontitis as an underlying cause, not only its symptoms, we use a tissue regenerative technique that's CE approved and clinically tested. The causes of periodontitis are reduced by performing the whole treatment as less invasive as possible, using dental professional high-tech tools for scaling and for cleaning the affected areas.

The Electronic Doctor regenerative technique is the core of our treatment but it must be preceded by 3 other very important steps:

  • » Periodontitis Diagnosis
  • » Teeth Scaling (normal teeth scaling, subgingival scaling)
  • » Digital Dental Occlusion Analysis

1. Diagnosis

Putting the diagnosis of periodontal diseases is not painful and it doesn't take a long time to be performed. Still, it is very important to have the right diagnosis for periodontitis, not in order to find out whether you have the disease or not, but to find out what type of periodontitis you're suffering from in order to recieve the right treatment. Therea are two main procedures for diagnosis:

  • Medical History Analysis
  • Physical examination (inspection of the gums, tooth movement testing, CT scan, Periodontal Screening and Recording)

2. Professional Teeth Cleaning

Teeth scaling

Out teeth scaling method is a pain-free alternative to the classical teeth scaling (ultra-sound scaling, mechanical scaling). Other advantages of this type of dental scaling are that the tooth surface is perfectly cleaned, there is no bleeding during or after the procedure and therefore there are no lesions made on the teeth or gums.

Deep Cleaning / Periodontal Pockets Cleaning

The periodontal pockets are usually cleaned by dentists using a surgical procedure. In our clinic, we perform that cleaning with extreme care, without using a scaplel or causing any real damage to the gums. During this procedure the patient doesn't experience pain and the regenerative cells remain in the affected areas.

3. Digital Management of Occlusion

The proper management of occlusion is a very important step in treating periodontitis. Periodontitis patients first lose the teeth that are exposed to high pressure pushing on them during mastication. If the doctors manage to establish a state of equilibrium between the forces and the pressures between the teeth, they can allow the periodontal tissue to heal, making the patients ready for the next step in their periodontitis treatment: the stimulation of the tissue regeneration by using the Electronic Doctor technique.

Classical Management of Occlusion

Usually, the surgeon identifies the imperfect dental contacts by using "articulating paper". However, this method can show only those contacts that appear while the teeth are in repose, not in dynamic.

Digital Management of Occlusion

The T Scan System for digital management of occlusion uses state of the art technology that allows the electronic detection of the pathological dental contacts both in repose and dynamic. In addition, it shows the forces that arise during the byte on every single tooth, forces that can't be identified by the "articulation paper". Studies demonstrated that the accuracy of the T Scan measurements is over 90%.

After the pathological dental contacts are identified, they are easily removed by polishing.

4. Periodontal Tissue Regeneration (Electronic Doctor)

This new and unique method of treatment proved to be very effective for the patients with periodontal and gum diseases, but can also be used for preventing those illnesses. It stimulates an infinite reservoir of regenerative cells, the body's own cells. Those regenerative cells are attracted to the damaged area through a physical mechanism that does not require the contact of the gum tissue with foreign substances. The technique has 3 main advantages:

  • » there is no risk of side effects;
  • » no surgery is required;
  • » it uses the body's own regeneration cells that are practically infinite in number and don't cost anything;

The Electronic Doctor device will be placed near the affected periodontal tissue, the cellular regeneration will increase and lots of new regenerative cells will be brought to it. The dentist will decide the scheme of treatment with this dentistry tool after the clinical and radiological consult.

It is recommended that this method of treatment is used even before the first symptoms, such as bleeding gums and gum recession, get worse, because it is very efficient in preventing gum and periodontal diseases. Still, with our periodontitis treatment we managed to save the teeth of hundreds of patients who were displaying medium dental mobility and who had previously been advised by other doctors to get dental implants.
